As you might expect, being a ‘virtual’ mayor has been a very strange experience and very far from what I might have expected in more usual times.

Since my year began as Mayor last June 2020 we have been in one stage or another of restrictions - going from what seems now like relative freedom in the summer to periods of total lockdown.

One of the downsides has been that I have not been able to visit all the wonderful charities in Waverley and the fantastic volunteers that staff them and as it’s custom for the Mayor to support some of these charities, I’ve decided to take on my very own challenge - My 100+100+100 challenge.

I hope to raise much needed funds for Waverley Home Start, Farnham and District Sea Cadets and 40 Degreez. Find out more about the charities by clicking here.

This challenge is the reason behind me starting this blog – it will hopefully motivate me to complete my challenge of walking 100 miles, swimming a 100 lengths plus learning to ride a bike a 100 yds without putting my feet down! And hopefully I can complete this before the end of my mayoral year on 25 May 2021.
